This plantable seed greetings card has been ethically handmade in England using 100% recycled and biodegradable materials.

The card is embedded with 24 varieties of native British wildflower seeds, specifically mixed by Ruby & Bo to support bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

The seeds are sent to artisan papermakers in the South of England who handmake the paper and hang it to air dry in the rafters of the mill. This helps to maximise the germination rate.

When the card is planted, the paper will compost away to leave only flowers. A mix of annuals to provide first-year colour, as well as perennials, which will flower from year two.

The card can be potted indoors, or if the season is right, sown directly into the garden soil. 

This card comes with a recycled paper envelope, made entirely from UK post-consumer (the greenest!) waste, a recycled paper ‘plant me’ sticker and a set of planting instructions that double as a postage protector to keep your card safe in transit.

About the Makers

Founded in 2019 by Victoria, a merchandiser and part-time artist, and Rob, a graphic designer by trade, Ruby and Bo was named after their two small children. Horrified by the waste generated by the greeting card industry, the pair decided to develop an eco-friendly alternative using wildflower seeds. The result - 100% compostable cards with a purpose! Initially launching with a range of plantable greeting cards and seed paper shapes, the two have ventured further into the world of eco-friendly stationery with a growing range of plantable notebooks, wrapping paper, recycled ribbon and paper tape.
