‘Believe in a gender-equal world and it will happen’

Earlier this year, WOW commissioned four female artists from across the world to illustrate words that represent strength, empowerment, and advancement.

Wasfa Kamal, a Karachi-based artist, illustrated these powerful words into a print we love!

About the Illustrator, Wasfa Kamal

Wasfa is an illustrator and graphic designer living and working in Karachi, Pakistan.  Most of her work revolves around stereotypes that have existed in our society for too long, featuring themes of gender equality and other universal social issues.

"I feel happiest when I am drawing and expressing myself through art. A lot of my illustrative work is inspired by the women of Pakistan. I try to depict my observations of social and cultural issues that affect us in my art."
